Information for Visitors
The Summer School 2019 is soon to take place at Askham Bryan College, Askham Bryan, York YO23 3FR, and as in previous years the School will be open to visitors from 10 am to 4 pm on the last Saturday, which will be the 10th August.
The College lies in extensive grounds some 5 miles to the west of York city centre, directly beside the main A64 road. The campus itself is very compact and is on a level site. It is 5 minutes’ drive from the Askham Bar Park and Ride into York and a short walk from the small village of Askham Bryan to the north. Car parking is available on site, but please car share whenever possible to save spaces.
On arrival please go directly to Reception, where you will be given a yellow ‘visitors’ sticker, which must be clearly visible at all times whilst you are on college premises, especially if you visit the refectory to purchase food and drinks. Raffle tickets (£1 each) will also be available to purchase for the chance to win the many prizes that have been generously donated by the traders attending the Trade Fair. Stewards will be available to direct you to the various locations that are open.
There is the opportunity to see the various classes that students have taken part in, but please be aware that, although open to visitors, the students will still be in classes from 9 am until 12 noon. The classrooms will remain open for the remainder of the afternoon for visitors to see the achievements of the students during the week.
